چکیده
This paper presents an efficient approach for the modal analysis of coupled soil-structure systems, which dynamic response is strongly influenced by embedment in soil. The methodology based on a finite element-perfectly matched layer model that allows derivation frequency-independent system matrices and computation properties system. achieved solving nonlinear eigenproblem using Compact Rational Krylov (CoRK) eigensolver. A procedure developed to sort computed eigenpairs, filter out spurious modes are related near-field truncated far-field soil subdomains select physical structural proposed method can be used assessment identification systems such as fully or partially buried structures interpretation experimentally identified these especially presence highly damped closely spaced modes. applicability scalability 2D 3D problems demonstrated two case studies.

Vibration analysis of coupled double-nanocomposite microplate-systems
The aim of the paper is to analyze electro-thermo nonlinear vibration of a double-piezoelectric composite microplate-system (DPCMPS) based on nonlocal piezoelasticity theory. The two microplates are assumed to be connected by an enclosing elastic medium which is simulated by Pasternak foundation. Both of smart composite microplates are made of poly-vinylidene fluoride (PVDF) reinforced by zigza...
متن کاملEarthquake Analysis of Base Isolated Structures Including Soil-Structure Interaction
A frequency domain dynamic analysis is needed to obtain the response of structures constructed on a system of base isolators on flexible soil when subjected to earthquake ground motion. In such systems, the lateral stiffness of the base isolators is so small, compared to the structural stiffness, that in an earthquake attack the fundamental vibration mode dominates the response. With this in mi...
